A continuous body of water encircling Earth, the World Ocean is divided into a number of principal areas with relatively uninhibited interchange among them. Five oceanic divisions are usually defined: Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Arctic, and Southern; the last two listed are sometimes consolidated into the first three.

We hear now a days of preaching by elders of diverse communities about promoting love and goodwill to avoid conflicts and maintain peace and tranquillity between people of different race and religion.

DESPITE that the world is not on track to meet climate objectives and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 7 (SDG7) for universal access to clean, affordable and reliable energy, Marcel Alers, UNDP Head of Energy, said that “clean energy solutions exist that can get us there”. 

In this article I would like to present a personal profile and tribute of Sayagyi Uncle U Tha Hto (6 June 1919-4 February 2011), an economist who is a University of Rangoon (as it was then formally named) and University of California (at Berkeley) alumnus.

As the year 2020 marks the centenary of the founding of the Rangoon University (RU later YU), I intend to write an article as a tribute to my alma mater.
