Independence Day amnesty: Over 9,700 local and foreign prisoners granted pardon

The government has granted amnesty to 9,651 local prisoners and 114 foreign prisoners from In­sein Prison in commemoration of the 76th Independence Day and on humanitarian grounds. Minister for Security and Border Affairs Colonel Win Tint and Command­er of Yangon Region Police Force Police Brig-Gen Myo Min Htike of Yangon Region Government delivered speeches to 2,497 in­mates at the gymnasium of Insein Prison yesterday morning.
