A get-together party aimed at promoting friendship among Chin indigenous people and tackling their difficulties was held at Dhamma School Hall in Sedoktaya Township, Magway Region this morning.

The regional chief minister and his entourage presented cash and relief supplies donated by the regional government to the fire victims.

Representatives from Daw Khin Kyi Foundation donated humanitarian aid to the needy people in remote areas in Khamti Township, Sagaing Region on 27 April, said Ko Aung San Myint, one of the volunteers.

“We (the current administration) hope to provide the best policies and strategies, both long term and short term, for the economic development of the region and raise the nation’s GDP’s as a whole.”

A mushroom growing course was opened in the training hall of the Township Agriculture Department in Yedashe Township, Taungoo district, Bago region this morning. The course was organized by Taungoo District Agriculture Department with the aim of helping farmers generate family incomes by growing a variety of mushrooms on a manageable scale.

A combined team comprised of forest staff, general administration staff and local policemen led by Deputy Commissioner U Nyi Nyi Lwin of Mawleik District General Administration Department made a thorough search of “Yuwa” reserved forest to seize illegal teaks logs.
