The 7th anniversary of the PaO National Day was commemorated on a grand scale at the township sports grounds in Hsiseng Township, Southern Shan State on 17 March.

A gathering of Dana ethnic was held at a monastery in Nanpone Village, Yatsauk Township in Shan State this morning.

“Ethnic entrepreneurs should exchange visits with their counterparts to have understanding of the businesses, traditions and cultures of other ethnic races,” said Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Naing Thet Lwin at the meeting Myanmar Ethnic Entrepreneurs Association-MEEA in Yangon yesterday.

"EVERY progressive citizen reads and every citizen who reads progresses," said U Thant, the UN third Secretary- General. If we look at our neighbors we will see that China and India are in the lead when it comes to national interest in reading. Indeed, the amount of time their people spend on reading is quite admirable.

CURRENTLY, the incumbent government is attempting to achieve “national reconciliation and internal peace” as one of the national objectives.

The opening ceremony of the 5th anniversary of Lisu New Year Festival was graced by Shan State Lisu Ethnic Affairs Minister U Gu Sar in Loigon village, Namhsan Township, eastern part of Shan State this morning.
