Thailand repatriates 102 Myanmar migrant workers

23

A total of 102 migrant workers were repatriated to Myanmar from Thailand on the evening of 22 October. The migrants — 90 men, 10 women, and 2 children — were escorted to the Kawthoung border gate by officials from Thailand’s Ranong Immigration Department.

The migrant workers were expelled by Thai authorities as their visas had expired and they did not have proper documentation, according to the Ranong Immigration Department.

Officials from the General Administration Department, the Labour, Immigration and Population Department, the Anti-Trafficking Police, the Labour Department, and the Natural Disaster Department welcomed the workers and provided them healthcare services. Afterwards, they were sent back to their hometowns by the related departments.
