Thet Htar Thuzar wins FLEET Mauritius International 2019 title

MYANMAR’S Thet Htar Thuzar won the championship title in the women’s singles series of the FLEET Mauritius International 2019, held in Ebene, Mauritius, by beating Finland’s Airi Mikkela yesterday.

 

Organized under the supervision of the World Badminton Federation, the International Badminton Tournament was held from 13 to 16 June.

 

Thet Htar Thuzar defeated Mauritius’ Lorna Bodha by 21-3 and 21-10 in the Round of 32 stages.

 

She also beat Malaysia’s Kasturi Rakhakrishnan by 21- 19 and 21-12 in the Round of 16.

 

In the quarter final, Thet Htar beat Kate Foo Kune of Mauritius by 21-19 and 21-16.

 

In the semifinal, she drubbed India’s Sai Uttejitha Rai Chukka 13-21, 21-19, and 21-16.

 

In the final, Thet Htar Thuzar achieved a decisive win over Finland’s Airi Mikkela with a score of 21-10 and 21-19.

 

Thet Htar Thuzar has already won three other international titles:the Egypt International Badminton Series, held in October, 2018, Uganda’s Badminton International Series, held in February, 2019, and the 2019 Future Series of Kenya.—Shine Htet Zaw (Translated by Kyaw Zin Lin)
