Tiananmen anniversary vigil held in Hong Kong

A huge vigil has been held in Hong Kong to remember the victims of the crackdown on prodemocracy protests in Beijing's Tiananmen Square in 1989.

Organizers say 180,000 people gathered in a park on Tuesday, the 30th anniversary of the incident.

In a video message, the mother of a high school boy who died in the crackdown called it a state crime and said authorities cannot cover up bloodied truth with lies.

Participants demanded an investigation be launched to find the truth about the incident.

The Chinese government says the country's huge achievements prove that its actions during the Tiananmen Square incident were completely correct.
