Trump leaves for Europe

US President Donald Trump left Washington on Sunday for a three-nation European tour.

Trump will first arrive in Britain for a state visit. He is scheduled to meet Queen Elizabeth and have lunch with her. He will also hold talks with outgoing Prime Minister Theresa May.

Trump spoke to reporters before his departure. He said he wants to talk to May about bilateral trade after Britain's planned exit from the European Union.

Other issues expected to be on the agenda include the US-initiated exclusion of Chinese tech giant, Huawei's products.

The United States has been calling on Britain and other allies not to use Huawei's tools in next-generation 5G communication networks over security concerns.

But news reports say Britain does not intend to shut out the firm's products entirely, except in key areas.

After Britain, he is set to visit Ireland and France for talks with the countries' leaders.
