Trump to ‘wait and see’ on N. Korea meeting

US President Donald Trump says officials are arranging for him to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Trump made the remarks when he spoke to business leaders in Seoul on Sunday. Trump said " I am going to the DMZ and I understand they want to meet, and I'd love to say hello. It would be very short, but we are in the territory, very close. We don't have to take long trips to countries."

The president added he will see what happens, saying officials are working out the details of their meeting. A day earlier, Trump extended an invitation via Twitter to Kim to meet at the Demilitarized Zone, which separates the two Koreas.

North Korean state media quoted a senior foreign ministry official as saying that if the meeting takes place it would be a "meaningful occasion" for the two leaders.
