Two people were killed and seven others injured as a light truck overturned after it hit a tree on the Yangon-Pyay Road near Lethset Village, Minhla Township in Bago Region on 4 August.
The accident took place between mileposts 103/5 and 103/6 on the Yangon-Pyay Road at about 10:40 a.m. after a light truck with eight people aboard flipped over after the driver of the car lost control and crashed into a tree. Two people—one man and one woman—were pronounced dead on the spot and seven others were hurt in the incident. Among the injured people, four people were seriously hurt and they were transferred to a nearby public hospital.
The driver of the car identified as U Zaw Lin, 43 years old is being questioned over reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
