Two people were killed and three others injured as an over-speeding car overturned after its back tire got a puncture on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Toungoo Township, Bago Region on 27 June.
The tragic accident took place between mileposts 160/3 and 160/4 on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Toungoo Township at around 11:15 p.m. on 27 June. A vehicle with five people on board was driven by a man named U Til Kone, 58 years old and flipped over after its back tire got a puncture. Two women died on the spot and three others were hurt in the incident.
The injured people were sent to a public hospital in Toungoo. The driver has been charged with reckless driving by the local police.—MOHA
