Two men die after car hits tree in Pengwegon Twsp.

Two men died on the scene after a six-wheeled truck crashed into a tree in Pengwegon Township, Bago Region.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a police squad rushed to the spot of accident that took place between mileposts 107/5 and 107/6 on the Yangon-Mandalay old road in Pengwegon Township. The truck was heading to Yangon from Mandalay and was driven by a man identified as Aung Thura, 25, together with his colleague named Myint Myat, 25, from Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region.

The truck smashed into the tree beside the road after the driver lost control of the vehicle, killing themselves on the spot. The estimated loss of property due to the accident is about one million kyats and an investigation into the case is ongoing by the local police.—Khin Ko (Kyaukdaga)
