Two truck drivers test positive for virus at Kyaukpadaung checkpoint

Two drivers were found to have been infected with the coronavirus virus after having tested at the temporary checkpoint at an exit to Yenangyaung in Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region on November 15.


Drivers and passengers of trucks passing through Kyaukpadaung Township in Magway Region are being tested for the Covid-19 at Kaung Mon checkpoint at the entrance to the town. 92 drivers and their assistants of 49 trucks were tested at the checkpoint and one driver from Nyaung-U Township and one driver from Seikphyu Township were found to have been diagnosed with the deadly virus. The two infected patients were taken to Kyaukpadaung Hospital for medical treatment.


A contact tracing process for those who had close contact with the patients is being conducted and they will be quarantined, according to the township Covid-19 control and emergency response committee.
