A multiplier course on taking census and compiling voter’s list was opened at Thuwunna Hall in Thaton, Mon State this morning.
The course conducted by the township election sub-commission aims at compiling the correct voter’s list so that every eligible citizen can cast their vote in the upcoming 2020 multi-party general elections. On the occasion, Assistant Commissioner U Ye Tun Zaw made an opening address and Township Administrator U Thein Win explained steps to be taken and follow-up programmes. Next, two officials from the township election sub-commission and the Immigration and Population Department took part in the discussions.
Concerned officials also replied to questions raised by those present. The ceremony was attended by polling station officers, volunteers and governmental staff.—Thet Oo (Thaton)
