A training course on compiling voter’s list was opened at the meeting room of the General Administration Department in Monywa, Sagaing Region on 25 June.
Director of the GAD Daw Ohn Khin gave an opening speech and Chairman of the Sagaing Region Election Sub-commission U Tin Oo briefed electoral processes. The Union Election Commission (UEC) designated the year 2019 as voter list compilation and have drawn up an plan in cooperation with the Union Government Office and the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population so that every citizen can cast their vote.
The training course was attended by 119 polling station officers from 37 townships in the region. Basic voter list compilation will be conducted after multiplier courses are given.—Aung Win Nyein (IPRD)
