Ukrainian capital reports first two cases of COVID-19

First two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine, the National News Agency of Ukraine (Ukrinform) reported on Monday.

The two cases have brought the total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ukraine to seven, including one death from the northern Zhytomyr province, according to Ukrinform.

On Thursday, the government has introduced a three-week quarantine in educational institutions among other measures to contain the spread of the virus.

President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday addressed Ukrainians on the prevention of COVID-19, and urged the government to suspend non-essential businesses from Tuesday, such as shopping centers, restaurants, cafes and recreational facilities.
