Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe discusses with health officials from 6 regions/states

Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe held an online meeting with health officials from Yangon, Mandalay, Rakhine, Mon, Bago and Ayeyawady yesterday to take control measures against COVID-19. At the meeting, the Union Minister discussed the important role of primary health officials for the people, sharing experiences on control measures of the pandemic, awareness programme, risks of communicable and non-communicable diseases and access to the medical supplies at the stayhome areas. The respective health officers and public health authorities presented their experiences in contact tracing, difficulties, medical treatments for the suspected cases, the needs of vehicles for transportation, better management in stayhome areas, awareness programme and using communication tools.

They also discussed the needs of oxygen producing machines, pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitors, protective gears, contribution of well-wishers and more public participation. After the discussions from the Deputy Minister Dr Mya Lay Sein, Permanent Secretary Professor Dr Thet Khaing Win and Dr Thar Tun Kyaw, the Director-General from the Union Minister’s office, and Dr Soe Oo, the Director-General from Public Health Department, the Union Minister coordinated the discussions.

He also remarked on the better supports of control and emergency response committee, improving management at the lockdown area, the adjustment to guidelines of the ministry, adopting the necessary guidelines, using Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test kits at the township level, providing more protective items including N95 masks, and providing protective gears to the volunteers.
