Union Minister Dr Pe Myint inspects MRTV Thabyaytaung Station in Pyinmana

Union Minister for Information Dr Pe Myint inspected the broadcasting process of the MRTV Retransmission Station (Thabyaytaung), installation of equipment and duty assignments of the staff members in Pyinmana Township.


During the Union Minister’s visit, at the Transmission Room No 1, MRTV Director- General U Ye Naing and officials explained digital television broadcasting, FM radio programmes and plans for the Myanmar Radio International (MRI) broadcasts. At the Transmission Room No 2, officials reported on broadcasting works, equipment, technologies, cooperation with the newsroom of the MRTV (Tatkon- Head Office), and live streaming with DSNG Van.


The Union Minister said that information technology is constantly developing, and that it is necessary to observe and install modern equipment in the stations to keep pace with the changing technologies. The Union Minister also inspected the places to take breaks and relax during the shift of the staff. He also instructed the officials and staff to perform their duties in accordance with COVID-19 preventive measures.


Hluttaw TV programmes and live broadcasts of ceremonies held in Nay Pyi Taw are sent to the MRTV Retransmission Station (Thabyaytaung) from the respective venues, and then the station sends the contents to MRTV (Tatkon) via a fibre link. In addition to the fibre link, a microwave link is used to connect between Pyinmana and Tatkon as a backup link. Moreover, TV contents and data files from Nay Pyi Taw and various ministries are sent to the MRTV (Tatkon) via satellite and internet connections.


The Thabyaytaung station is located in Pangin ward in Pyinmana Township, and production crews, audio engineers and station staff members are performing their duties there for 24 hours under the divided shifts.
