Union Minister inspects Surbung Airport construction project in Chin State

Union Minister for Transport and Communications U Thant Sin Maung looked into construction project of Surbung Airport in Falam Township, Chin State, on 29 December morning.

Deputy Director-General of the Department of Aviation and In-Charge of the Project U Kyaw Soe updated the project at the briefing hall.

The Union Minister coordinated with the Chin State Government for the project.

The airport facilities include a fire fighting station attached to the 60-ft high air traffic control tower and the structure foundation for DVOR.

The airport is aimed to promote transportation of mountainous and remote Chin State, and it will become one of the 69 airports of the country in which three international airports and 31 domestic airports are in operation. —MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
