Untimely rain destroys winter crops, beans

Kyauktaga 6 November

Untimely rain hit Kyauktag Township, Bago District starting from the beginning of November and water entered into the low-lying areas and fields in the township.

The unseasonably rain destroyed winter crop fields and the harvested and threshed paddy became wet due to the rain. Therefore, the farmers in the township experienced the risk of the untimely rain.

In the township, there are a total of over 18000 farmers and they mostly grow monsoon paddy, winter crops and beans. In addition, there are over 140000 acres of farmland in the township.
