US to host international security meeting on Iran

The United States will host a high-level international meeting from Wednesday to strengthen ties with other nations on measures against Iran.

US Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will attend the two-day conference in Warsaw, Poland. The meeting will cover a range of issues, including terrorism and missile development in the Middle East.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate.

Multiple media outlets in Arab countries report that Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations without diplomatic ties with Israel will send ministers.While Israel and these Arab nations have been at odds for years, they see Iran as a shared enemy.

Some European countries are concerned about the US hardline stance against Iran. EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has decided not to attend the meeting.
