Workshop on draft law on Inle lake conservation and protection held in Hopone Tsp

A workshop on draft law on inle Lake conservation and protection in watershed areas was held at the meeting hall of the Township General Administration Department in Hopone Township in eastern Shan state of Myanmar yesterday morning.

The workshop aims to build environmentally friendly socio-economic development in Inle Lake area, to hand down good environmental heritages to new generations, to preserve cultural heritages, to establish a systematic joint-administrative mechanism, to conserve the environment and bio diversities, to ensure multi-sector development in Inle Lake area and to promote human resources.

First, MP U Khun Maung Phu of the state Hluttaw made an opening speech, saying that Inle Lake is recognized by UNESCO as ASEAN Heritage Park, wet land area as well as man and biosphere area. He urged the participants to come up with wise advices for the sustainable development of Inle Lake area while discussing the draft law. Then, U Tin Aung briefed the participants on the draft law.

Then, the participants were categorized into five groups to discuss the contents of the draft law in detail.
