Mandalay-based Yadanabon FC thrashed Myawady FC with a lone goal in their Week 16 match of Myanmar National League 2022 at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon yesterday.
Head coach U Maung Maung Aye’s Myawady FC lined up youth players including Captain Myat Thu Aung, Goalie Tun Nanda Oo, and Striker Soe Min Oo.
Meanwhile, Yadanabon FC showcased its core players: Zaw Ye Tun, Goal Keeper Pyae Phyo Thu and veteran players Myo Ko Tun and Zaw Ye Tun.
Yadanabon was forced to play at the start with neat and tidy tackling, but Myawady became the aggressor with a potent and sustained attack.
Taking advantage of Myawady’s freezing defence line, Yadanabon got an icebreaker at the 20-minute-mark, and it was scored by star player Myo Ko Tun.
After 1-0, the match became a good and exciting one for football fans. The match intensified in the second half with equal play. Though Myawady tried more for their equalizers, the strikers could not convert their near-goal chances in the early minutes’ mark.
There were no more goals till the final whistle and the single goal was enough for team Yadanabon to celebrate their victory in the Week 16 of the domestic league. — GNLM
