Yamethin’s First Walking Thingyan to be held

The first walking Thingyan of Yamethin Township, Mandalay Region will be held on a grand scale. The walking Thingyan area is designated from Yanaungmyin Road Clock Tower to U Min Naing Road and the festival area will be decorated with colorful umbrellas and Myanma’s traditional musical instruments.

 

The archway of the walking Thingyan festival is being decorated with Myanma traditional instruments produced by local residents from Htantaw village, Yamethin Township. The festival will kick off at 5 pm on 13 April, according to the organizing committee.

 

 

During the festival, departmental officials, social organizations, businesses and private schools will serve Myanmar traditional foods and snacks every day.  The entertainment program with Thingyan dance troupes will be staged at pandals near Bogyoke Statue and on Taungoodan Road at Wartoe Ward.
