The final match of the chief minister’s cup men’s U-17 football tournament took place in conjunction with a prize presentation ceremony at Aung San Stadium in Yangon, yesterday evening.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein, Deputy Speaker of the regional parliament U Lin Naing Myint, Regional Minister for Security and Border Affairs Col Aung Soe Moe, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe, Regional Minister for Rakhine Ethnic Affairs U Zaw Aye Maung, officials from the Sports and Physical Education Department and fans.
In the final game, the team representing Kayan Township beat the squad representing North Okkalapa Township 1-0. Next, the prize awarding ceremony followed. The regional parliament deputy speaker and regional ministers awarded consolation and individual prizes to the runner-up team and the players.
The chief minister then presented cash award and champion trophy to the winning team. The event was held at Aung San Stadium in Yangon from 11 to 22 July.—Hsan Kyaw Oo (IPRD)
