The Fertility Centre at the Central Women’s Hospital (Yangon) has been open for married couples wishing to have children, and more than 5,400 patients have received treatment there as of 25 May.

The centre is providing services, using technologies such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI).

The Fertility Centre was opened in 2022. In 2023, treatment using IUI was provided to 15 patients, while 61 patients received treatment in 2024 and 157 patients in 2025.

During April and May 2026, procedures using IVF technology have continued for 12 couples to help them conceive children. — ASH/MKKS
