Yangon United beat Rakhine United 4-0 in Round 2 of MNL

YANGON United won their Round 2 match of the Myanmar National League 2019 against Rakhine United by four goals yesterday in Yangon, their home stadium.

 

The goals for Yangon were netted by Kaung Htet Soe, Miller, Sylla, and Than Paing.

 

With speedy attacks, Yangon dominated the early minutes of the first half and created some goal opportunities.

 

Kaung Htet Soe scored the opening goal for Yangon United at 11 minutes, aided by an assist from Miller.

 

Ten minutes later, Miller kicked a foul ball directly into the net, scoring the second goal for Yangon United.

 

The first half ended with Yangon United leading by two goals.

 

With stable play, Yangon United retained their tempo in the second half, while Rakhine United put in more efforts to equalize the result with a massive midfield, creating several chances.

 

But, Yangon United managed to breach Rakhine United’s defence and scored again at the 78th minute. Striker Sylla scored the goal for Yangon, kicking the ball past the Rakhine United keeper.

 

Ten minutes before the match ended, Yangon United’s Than Paing came in as substitute player and scored the final goal at 90 minutes.

 

At the final whistle, the score was 4-0 in favour of Yangon United.

 

With the win, Yangon United are now leading the table, with 23 points from 12 matches played. The team will next play Shan United at the Taunggyi stadium on 23 June.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
