Yangon United defeats Dagon United 3-0 in MNL Week-17

YANGON United still holds the top spot in the standing table with a 3-0 win over Dagon United in the Week-17 match of the Myanmar National League at the Yangon United home stadium yesterday.

Winning goals for Yangon United were scored by Kaung Htet Soe and Maung Maung Lwin.

Yangon United opened the attack and scored the early opener at the 6 minute mark.

The goal was netted by Kaung Htet Soe, with an assist by midfielder Kosuke.

The match heated up as Yangon scored the opening goal and Dagon United forced the play for their equalizers.

Yangon United scored the second goal at 44 minutes. The goal was again scored by Yangon’s star Kaung Htet Soe with the support by Maung Maung Lwin.

The scoring stood at 2-0 in favour for Yangon United.

At the start of the second half, Yangon scored their third goal with Maung Maung Lwin, as Yangon had a foul ball but Miller’s foul ball kick was blocked by the defenders, but the ball was finally finished by Maung Maung Lwin, heading flawlessly into the net.

Dagon United also tried to score a consolation goal, but the three goals were too much for the team to overcome, as Dagon seems exhausted in the final minutes.

Yangon United is leading the table after 17 plays with 11 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses, earning 36 points, while Dagon United stands in 11th place with 3 wins, 3 draws and ten losses in 17 matches played.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
