Slight earthquake jolts Chin State capital

No immediate reports of damages or casualties were reported following a slight earthquake which was recorded early this morning, the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) announced.


An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter inside Myanmar hit about 12 miles southeast of Haka Township in Chin State. It was recorded at 00:33 a.m. at a latitude of 22.56°N, and longitude of 93.78°E, with a depth of 13 kilometers and about 13 miles southeast of the Haka seismological observatory, said the DMH.
