Myanmar wins 5 golds, 4 silvers, 18 bronzes in 6th SEAVF Southeast Asian Vovinam Championship 2023

IN the 6th SEAVF Southeast Asian Vovinam Championship 2023 (pre-SEA Games), held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from 25 to 30 March, Myanmar Vovinam athletes won five gold, four silver, and 18 bronze medals, placing third nationally.

 

Aik Soe Lin from Men’s Individual, Manarr Kwee+Tin Htoo Zaw from Men’s Double, Khaing Wah Phoo+Ma Honey Aung Lwin from Women’s Double, Aung Khaing Lin+Hein Htet Aung+Kyaw Thu Soe Aung+Yar Zar Tun+Nay Lin Htet, and manarr Kwee+Aik Soe Lin+Yar Zar Tun+Tin Htoo Zaw+Min Min Htike from a team of five (men’s) competitions won a gold medal each.

 

Yar Zar Tun in men’s individual competition, Kyaw Thu Soe Aung+Nay Lin Htet+Hein Htet Aung+Khaing Zar Tun+ Phyo Ei Kyaw+Thida Min inMen’s and Women’s mixed competition and Aung Thet Naing in the 65-kilo competition and Hnin Thet Wai in the 55-kilo competition won a silver medal each.

 

Next, 18 bronze medals were won by the team Myanmar in different categories and competitions.

 

Athletes from Cambodia, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines competed in the tourney.

 

Myanmar Vovinam Sport team including 10 male and 10 female athletes led by team leader U Myo Naung, vice president of the Myanmar Martial Arts Federation, team administrator U Lwan Aung, coaches U Kyaw Min Tun and Daw Mya Thein Su will return to Yangon, Myanmar on 31 March. — Bala Soe/KZL
