Union Ministers joined the launching of 7th China-South East Asia Exposition, 27th China Kunming Export and Import Fair.
Emphasis would be placed on cementing cooperation in implementing the prosperity of the people by initiating the fastest-developed region through regional economic, trade and investment measures, said Union Minister for Commerce U Aung Naing Oo at the launching of the 7th Chia- South East Asia Exposition and the 27th China Kunming Export and Import Fair at the Kunming Dianchi Lake International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Kunming of Yunnan Province in China yesterday.
The Union minister continued to say that the third batch meeting to enhance the ASEAN-China Free Trade Agreement-ACFTA 3.0 took place as an agreement of the regional economic cooperation in Kunming in June 2023.
He expressed his anticipation that further meetings would focus on the digital economy and green economic sectors to establish the free trade area comprising all sectors in addition to investment and service sectors.
The Union minister also unveiled the honorary state exhibition of the exposition and extended greetings.
The exposition was also attended by Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo together with Union Ministers Dr Kan Zaw and U Maung Maung Ohn together with delegation leaders from China, ASEAN and South Asian countries.
More than 100 businesspersons from Myanmar decided to showcase agricultural produce, handicraft and precious jewellery items at the expo and are scheduled to join the related business forums.
Myanmar businesspersons experienced the expo for the second time, and they also displayed their products at the 5th China-South Asian Expo held in June 2018. The theme of the expo was Solidarity and Coordination for Common Development. It was attended by high-ranking delegates from 84 countries.
Myanmar opened 36 booths together with booths of ASEAN, South Asian and global countries at the expo, comprising 15 booths for industrial, agricultural, farming, biomedicine and general products, famous businesses and products, commodity booths of South Asia, advanced products and others. —MNA/TTA
