AS of 22 January 2026, Myanmar athletes have secured a total of 16 medals at the XIII ASEAN Para Games, held from 20 to 26 January in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The tally includes seven golds, six silvers, and three bronzes across swimming and athletics events.
Myanmar competitors have taken part in multiple disciplines, including blind football, goalball, swimming, sitting volleyball, shooting, table tennis, track and field, seven-a-side football, boccia, and bowling.
In swimming, Nyi Nyi Lin Htet claimed gold in the S3- S4 men’s 200-metre freestyle with a time of 3:36.31. Other medalists included winners in S6 men’s 200-metre freestyle, T44/T64 and F44/F56 athletics, and table tennis Class 7.
In team events, Myanmar defeated the Philippines and Indonesia in sitting volleyball, Malaysia in seven-a-side football, and the Philippines in blind football. In boccia BC1 men’s individual, Min Min Htike emerged victorious over a Philippines competitor, while Toe Tat Aung won in table tennis Class 7 semifinals against a Thai athlete.
The medal presentation ceremony was conducted with officials from the Asean Para Sports Federation (APSF) and the Myanmar Paralympic Committee, led by Maj-Gen Hla Moe, presenting awards to winners.
Myanmar athletes will continue to compete on 23 January in athletics, swimming, sitting volleyball, blind football, seven-a-side football, goalball, shooting, weightlifting, and boccia events.
Currently, the Myanmar team ranks sixth in the overall medal standings, maintaining its tally of seven golds, six silvers, and three bronzes. — MNA/KZL
