MYANMAR fighter Joshua Van will make his first world title de­fence, facing Japanese fighter Tatsuro Iro on 11 April (12 April Myanmar Time) at UFC 327 in Miami, USA.

 

Joshua Van joined the re­nowned UFC in 2023 and became a world champion within just over two years. In his professional MMA career, he has fought 18 matches, winning 16 and losing two, while in 10 UFC fights, he has won nine and lost one. Van went on a six-fight winning streak in UFC before becoming champion.

 

He won the world title after defeating Brazilian fighter Panto­gar by knockout on 6 December, and now, four months later, he will defend his title for the first time. His opponent, Japanese fighter Tatsuro Iro, has fought 19 professional MMA matches, winning 18 and losing one, and once achieved a 16-fight winning streak in his career. — Shine Htet Zaw/KZL
