TATMADAW has regained control of the Mandalay-Indaw-Myitkyina route and officially reopened the link on 6 May. According to public opinion, this move will ease travel, accelerate the flow of goods, and foster better economic opportunities for the people.
Currently, Tatmadaw has established full control over the entire transport artery, encompassing the following route: Mandalay-Madaya-Thabeikk y i n -Tagaung-Htigyaing-Katha-Indaw-Mawlu-Nantsee Aung-Mohnyin -Mogaung-Myitkyina.
Locals noted that the route connecting Mandalay to Myitkyina is fundamental to the development of northern Myanmar. With the road now operational, transport will be faster and more convenient, helping revitalize the socio-economic lives of local ethnic communities. In Myitkyina, where residents have been struggling with high inflation, locals are hopeful that the reopening will lead to a significant drop in commodity prices.
