MYANMAR Red Cross Society, in collab­oration with the International Committee of the Red Cross, conducted a Red Cross dissemination workshop at the headquar­ters of the Myanmar Red Cross Society in Nay Pyi Taw from 9 to 11 May, according to the Myanmar Red Cross Society.

 

The workshop was organized to ena­ble participants to gain a comprehensive understanding of the values of the Red Cross Movement, the Fundamental Princi­ples of the Red Cross, Red Cross activities, and its duties and responsibilities. A total of 30 Red Cross volunteers from townships in Nay Pyi Taw attended the workshop.

 

At the opening ceremony of the work­shop, Myanmar Red Cross Society Presi­dent Dr Myo Nyunt, Chairman U Aung Cho of the Nay Pyi Taw Red Cross Supervisory Committee, and Movement Cooperation Coordinator Mr Patrick Nyongesa from the International Committee of the Red Cross delivered opening remarks.

 

Officials from the Myanmar Red Cross Society, representatives from the Interna­tional Committee of the Red Cross, and Red Cross volunteers from townships in Nay Pyi Taw who would attend the training also took part in the opening ceremony. — ASH/MKKS
