THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, held a ceremony yesterday morning in Loitanttan Village of Hopong Township, Shan State (South), to disburse revolving funds under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project. The ceremony was attended by the township DRD head and officials.
U Soe Lwin Myint, Head of the Hopong Township Department of Rural Development, explained that the funds were being disbursed with the objectives of enabling rural people in Loitanttan Village to expand systematic agricultural activities and implementing village development works with the increased project funds.
Project officials and staff clarified project matters, interest rates and loan terms, and regulations to be followed in obtaining loans. Officials handed over K30 million in revolving funds to members of the village Mya Sein Yaung Village Project committee.
Village project committee members then disbursed K30 million in revolving funds at low interest rates to a total of 33 members who will engage in agricultural activities in Loitanttan Village. — Karan (Rural)
