THE Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Kyaukpadaung Township, Mandalay Region, conducted a field inspection of the ongoing concrete road construction project in Paukthit Village on 7 June. The project aims to improve transport for rural residents.
NyaungU District Head of the department U Han Myint Tun, Kyaukpadaung Township Head Daw Aye Aye Thet, and responsible officials, together with members of the Village Development Committee, inspected the progress of the village concrete road construction project measuring 356 feet in length, 12 feet in width and six inches in thickness.
The district head later met village elders and locals and, with them, discussed the need to complete the road in compliance with prescribed standards to ensure its long-term sustainability.
The concrete road construction project is being implemented with K15 million from the Village Development Project (VDP) support fund and K6 million contributed by residents, bringing the total project cost to K21 million. Under the close supervision of staff from the Department of Rural Development, villagers began implementing the project in the first week of May this year.
