THE second regular ses­sion of the Third Amyo­tha Hluttaw continued for the third day at its convention hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday after­noon.

 

First, Union Min­ister for Education Dr Chaw Chaw Sein replied to the questions raised by U Aung Chit Lwin from the Sagaing Region Constituency 2, saying that the students from Khamti, Leshi, Lahe and Nanyun townships of upper Sagaing Region who passed the 2026 ma­triculation examination will be allowed to attend Homalin Degree College for learning higher edu­cation.

 

She also answered the questions raised by U Sein Shwe Min from the Magway Region Con­stituency 4. She said that the Nay Pyi Taw Coun­cil and relevant regional government will super­vise the tender invita­tion, assignment and contract process for the construction of school buildings at Hsingaung Basic Education High School, Ywatha BEPS, and Kontha BEHS Branch in Minbu Town­ship in the 2026-27 finan­cial year.

 

Hluttaw representa­tives discussed matters related to the Anti-On­line Scam Bill on needs to amend the precise usage of text, forma­tion of the anti-online scam committee with chairmen of the leading bodies of the self-admin­istered zones and divi­sion, the ways of sending complaints about online scams, management of banking accounts for offenders, rewards for informants, wishes to add more texts in Chap­ter XI and XII, definition for International Gate­way Services(IGW) and responsibilities of IGW licence holders, and nec­essary participation of Hluttaw representatives at the regional commit­tees to combat online scams.

 

Moreover, Hluttaw representatives empha­sized the amendment for texts in Chapter I and Chapter XIII, more texts to insert online gambling into the bill, and appro­priate penalties for of­fenders.

 

Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe announced that the Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee decided to hear the discussions of the Amyotha Hluttaw representatives.

 

U Aung Chit Lwin from the Sagaing Re­gion Constituency 2 of the Amyotha Hluttaw tabled a motion, urging the Union government to fulfil the requirements of teachers from basic edu­cation schools. U Thein Hlaing from the Sagaing Region Constituency 7 of the Amyotha Hluttaw seconded the motion.

 

The Amyotha Hlut­taw approved that the motion would be dis­cussed. So, the Speak­er announced that the Hluttaw representatives wishing to participate in discussions can list the Director-General of the Amyotha Hluttaw Office.

 

The Amyotha Hlut­taw will continue on 11 June. — MNA/TTA
