The Speaker sought the decision of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw. As there was no objection, the Hluttaw approved the motion.

Hluttaw representatives from the Wuntho and Taungdwingyi constituencies discussed the tax exemption for diesel HSD (500 ppm).

Deputy Minister for Finance and Revenue U Han Win Aung responded to the discussions of the Hluttaw representatives, saying that the Government is regularly assessing the situation of conflicts in the Middle East, global fuel price conditions, domestic diesel price levels, the prices of basic food items and commodities, as well as the response measures taken by other countries in the region, monthly. If necessary, it will submit proposals to the Union Government and the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw to seek further exemption from the Specific Goods Tax and Commercial Tax on diesel HSD (500 ppm).

Therefore, in accordance with Section 37 of the Union Tax Law 2026, approval of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw is requested to grant an exemption from the Specific Goods Tax and Commercial Tax on diesel fuel HSD (500 ppm) for the period from 1 April to 30 April 2026.

The Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw announced that, regarding the matter of granting exemption from the Specific Goods Tax and Commercial Tax applicable to diesel HSD (500 ppm), which was submitted by the President, a vote was conducted using the electronic voting system. The result was 10 votes against, seven abstentions, and 497 votes in favour. As the number of votes in favour was greater, the Hluttaw approved the proposal.
