Mawlaik, June 16

The 2026 Rainy Season Tree-Planting Ceremony was held in Mawlaik Township, Sagaing Region, at 7:00 a.m. on 16 June at the People’s Football Ground.

At the ceremony, U Nay Htun Aung, Chairman of the District Management and Administration Committee, together with committee members, and U Kyaw San Oo, Chairman of the Township Management and Administration Committee, along with committee members, presented saplings to the participants.

A total of 250 people attended the event, including chairmen and members of the district and township management and administration committees, departmental officials, members of the Myanmar Women’s Affairs Federation and the Maternal and Child Welfare Association, teachers, and students.

Participants collectively planted 630 trees, comprising 250 teak saplings, 250 padauk saplings, 80 pyinkadoe saplings, and 50 seinpan saplings.— Ko Htet (IPRD)
