TATMADAW has been working to restore control over areas that were temporarily occupied by terrorist insurgents and has reopened key transportation routes vital for regional development. In line with the guidance of the government, reconstruction and regional development activities are being carried out. To facilitate the livelihoods of residents, government employees and their families living in remote areas with difficult transportation access, and to ensure the smooth operation of government offices, Tatmadaw also transports commodities using military vehicles.

The vehicles carrying the third batch of basic foodstuff, commodities, construction materials, medicines and medical supplies, stationery, and fuel to Myitkyina of Kachin State from Mandalay arrived back in Mandalay yesterday.

The convoy departed from Myitkyina on the morning of 16 June carrying local products to be traded in Mandalay, government employees assigned to new duty stations and their family members, and staff to attend a training course, and arrived back in Mandalay yesterday afternoon.

Due to the collaborative efforts of the government and Tatmadaw, the Mandalay-Myitkyina route was reopened, and the essential materials for regional development are also transported in time, whereas the roads and bridges exploded by the terrorists have been repaired, resulting in passenger vehicles and cargo trucks now operating normally along the route. — MNA/KTZH
