THE Maubin Township Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Coop­eratives and Rural De­velopment, Ayeyawady Region, held meetings with local residents on the village concrete road projects completed under the Village Devel­opment Project (VDP) in Yaykyaw Village and Kanyinthonepin Village, Maubin Township, yes­terday.

 

 

Maubin Township Department of Rural Development head U Tang Gyi and respon­sible officials explained to villagers in Yaykyaw Village and Kanyintho­nepin Village the com­pletion status of the de­velopment works, the utilization of project funds and the quality of the works, and received and discussed the views and suggestions of those in attendance.

 

The concrete roads constructed in the two villages are 430 feet in length, eight feet in width and six inches in thickness. Each village project was implement­ed by local residents themselves with the par­ticipation of the commu­nity, using VDP support funds of K15 million per village, and the projects have now been complet­ed 100 per cent and are expected to improve transport for 304 house­holds with a population of 1,270 in Yaykyaw Vil­lage and 189 households with a population of 745 in Kanyinthonepin Vil­lage, thereby contrib­uting significantly to their socioeconomic development. — Sein Lwin (Rural)
