NEARLY 100 athletes took part in the 2026 International Olympic Day commemorative gymnastics competition, organized by the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation under the leadership of the Department of Sports and Physical Education under the Ministry of Sports, at the federation’s training gym inside Kyaikkasan Sports Ground, Tamway Township, Yangon, on 21 June.
The event opened with remarks by Myanmar Gymnastics Federation President U Kaung Zaw, followed by musical performances by popular singer Ni Ni Khin Zaw.
After a demonstration performance by youth national gymnasts, competitions were held across men’s and women’s age-group categories. Around 100 gymnasts participated in various events showcasing strength, flexibility and technical skills.
At the conclusion of the competition, the federation chairman, Ni Ni Khin Zaw, along with other officials from the Myanmar Gymnastics Federation, awarded prizes to the winners of first, second, and joint third places. — Bala/ KZL
