MYANMA Railways, under the Ministry of Transport, will launch air-conditioned DEMU express trains on the Yangon-Mawlamy­ine-Yangon railway from 1 July 2026, introducing Train 83Up and 84Down.

 

Train 83 will depart Yangon at 5 am and ar­rive in Mawlamyine at 11 am, while Train 84 will leave Mawlamyine at noon and reach Yangon at 6 pm, with a journey time of around six hours.

 

Each train will have two upper-class and four first-class coaches, car­rying 312 passengers in total (72 upper-class and 240 first-class). Fares are set at K22,000 and K16,000 respectively.

 

Tickets for both the existing 81Up and 82Down and the new 83Up and 84Down ser­vices will be available via the Online Railways Ticketing and Payment (ORTP) system. — MNA/ KZL
