THE 2026 Inter-State and Region Swimming Championship finals and prize presentation ceremony was held yesterday afternoon at the National Swimming Pool on U Wisara Road in Dagon Township.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister for Sports U Nyi Nyi, Vice-Chair of the Myanmar Olympic Committee, along with officials, invited guests and athletes from various regions and states.
Yangon Region won the overall team titles in the men’s, women’s and combined categories, scoring 125 points in the men’s category, 128 in the women’s and 253 overall to secure all major team trophies.
The competition was held on 24 and 25 June with 13 men’s teams, 12 women’s teams, and 214 athletes from across Myanmar. — MNA/KZL
