UNION Minister for For­eign Affairs U Tin Maung Swe received a delegation led by Mr Lee Yam Ming, Executive Director of the ASEAN Coordinating Cen­tre for Humanitarian As­sistance on Disaster Man­agement (AHA Centre), yesterday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

 

The Union minister expressed his apprecia­tion for the efforts of the AHA Centre to provide humanitarian assistance in Myanmar, while en­couraging to maintain the close cooperation with the Government of Myanmar to ensure that humanitar­ian assistance is delivered to those who are in need effectively and efficiently. The Union minister em­phasized the importance of ensuring that humani­tarian aid aligns with My­anmar’s prioritized needs, and explained the Govern­ment’s facilitation of the AHA Centre’s initiatives in delivering humanitarian assistance to the people of Myanmar. The Union minister also suggested areas of cooperation with the AHA Centre, and re­affirmed that Myanmar remains committed to sup­porting the AHA Centre’s functions in Myanmar.

 

Mr Lee Yam Ming expressed his apprecia­tion for the support and assistance provided by the Government of Myanmar in delivering humanitar­ian assistance through the AHA Centre. He also briefed the AHA Centre’s future plans for the pro­vision of humanitarian assistance to Myanmar. — MNA
