The high-level Myanmar del­egation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing and his spouse Daw Kyu Kyu Hla left the inter­national airport in Luang Prabang yesterday after­noon.

 

The President of My­anmar, his spouse and par­ty were seen off at the air­port by senior officers from the Lao government led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in Attendance Mr Thongsavanh Phom­vihane and his spouse, Myanmar Ambassador to Laos U Aung Ko and his wife, Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig- Gen Yazar Tun and his wife and officials.

 

Meanwhile, the Pres­ident of Myanmar and his spouse were warmly seen off by Lao scouts along both sides of the red carpet by waving miniature flags of both countries.

 

In the evening, the special aircraft carrying the President and his spouse landed at the Tat­madaw Airport in Nay Py Taw where they were wel­comed by Vice-Pesident U Nyo Saw and his wife, Vice-President Nan Ni Ni Aye, Pyithu Hluttaw Speak­er U Khin Yi, Amyotha Hluttaw Speaker U Aung Lin Dwe and his wife, Com­mander-in-Chief of De­fence Services General Ye Win Oo and his wife, Union ministers and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Com­mand, and officials from the Lao Embassy and the Military Attaché office.

 

Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi, U Tin Maung Swe and U Khin Maung Soe, Shan State Chief Minister U Sai Htein Soe, senior Tatmadaw of­ficers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and deputy ministers who ac­companied the President and his spouse arrived back on the same flight.

 

During the State Visit, the President held meetings with the Presi­dent of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the President of the National Assembly of Lao, and the Party Secretary of Luang Prabang Province. He also visited the Lao micro and small industry, historic stupas and landmarks in Lao. — MNA/TTA
