A seminar on “Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, Myanmar’s Strategic Future and the Role of Hluttaw” was held yesterday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw as part of capacity-building training for Hluttaw representatives.

In his remarks, Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker Joint Coordinating Committee on Hluttaw Development (JCC) Chair U Maung Maung Ohn said this seminar was the very first activity of the JCC, as its objective is to enhance the dignity and standards of Hluttaw while further strengthening the knowledge and capabilities of Hluttaw representatives. He encouraged participants to examine Myanmar’s current situation alongside global developments and discuss how Parliament should contribute to addressing these challenges. He also called for interactive discussions between experts and representatives, expressing the hope that such capacity-building seminars would enable the representatives to work together more effectively for the benefit of the Hluttaw and the nation.

Three experts discussed under different topics regarding geopolitical changes, geoeconomics and international affairs, and the Hluttaw representatives raised questions about what they wanted to know.

Following this, the Pyithu Hluttaw Deputy Speaker and JCC Chairman reviewed and commented on the key issues discussed during the seminar.
