Pwintbyu, July 8

More than 200 acres of chili have been planted in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region, during this year's rainy season, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

The township aims to cultivate 570 acres of chili this season. Planting began in June and has now exceeded 200 acres.

The Township Agriculture Department is supporting farmers by promoting Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), improving soil fertility, encouraging the systematic use of fertilizers and other agricultural inputs, and providing assistance with pest and disease control, food safety, and market access.

According to Daw Moe Moe Wai, Staff Officer of the Township Agriculture Department, expanding chili cultivation and increasing yields will help meet local demand while generating additional income for farmers through the sale of surplus produce, contributing to the township's socio-economic development. — Hlaing Win Lay (Pwintbyu Myay)
