Magway, July 14

The Magway Region Department of Fisheries held a fingerling release ceremony this morning on the banks of the Ayeyarwady River near Nan Htaik Thu Hotel on the Magway waterfront.

The ceremony was attended by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko, the Speaker of the Regional Hluttaw, officials from the local military command, regional ministers, departmental officials, members of social organizations, and local residents. Together, they released 400,000 fingerlings into the Ayeyarwady River.

The Magway Region Department of Fisheries plans to release more than 1.1 million fingerlings into rivers and reservoirs across the region this year.— Maung Khaing Min (IPRD)
